AKC Sanctioned 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Competition Wednesday, April 24, 2013 Entry fee: $15.00 per puppy One combined class will be offered for dogs that are (4) four months & under (6) six months. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/ to puppies not yet fully immunized.
Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit in this class. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay.
AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise.
Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges.
Breed standard disqualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Competition.

RESERVE WINNERS DOG/BITCHCHAPTER 16: SECTION 1 (new sixth paragraph) Each AKC Breed Parent Specialty Club shall have one designated Parent Club National Specialty show per year. All others shall be termed a Parent Club Specialty show.
Unless the Parent Club, in its Application to the AKC to hold its National Specialty, chooses to exclude the following award: At the National Specialty the dog designated Reserve Winners Dog and the bitch designated Reserve Winners Bitch will be awarded a three-point major, provided that the number of dogs competing in the regular classes of the Reserve Winner's sex totals at least twice the number required for a five point major, in the region in which the vent is held.
No major for Reserve Winners shall be given based upon an award of Best of Winners. In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified, or that is dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge, or from which all awards are withheld, shall not be included.
Amateur-Owner-Handler Class (effective as of 1/1/2009) Chapter 3, Section 7 - The Amateur-Owner-Handler Class shall be for dogs that are at least six months of age that are not champions.
Dogs must be handled in the class by the registered owner of the dog. This class is restricted to exhibitors who have not, at any point in time, been a professional dog handler, AKC approved conformation judge, or employed as an assistant to a professional handler.
Additionally, members of the immediate family or household of a current professional handler are ineligible for this class (as defined in Chapter 11, Section 13).
Non-Regular Classes Involving Single Dog Entries NR1.08100.15000. Veteran Classes - For AKC Champion Dogs and Champion Bitches only, 7 years & over.
